This SME from Baden has developed a product far more advanced than Google Street View: iNovitas digitalizes road and rail networks with stereo and panoramic cameras. These cameras capture all the data in high resolution and in 3D. A precise 3D coordinate is stored for each pixel, thus generating a digital twin. This is then made available to the infrastructure operators via a cloud solution. After three years at University of Applied Sciences of Northwest Switzerland, iNovitas moved to Aargau and has since grown rapidly. As the company soon realized, the SME threshold suddenly gives rise to new questions: for secured orders and large projects, an enterprise needs the right specialists and an ideal location.

Aargau Services has been advising Hannes Eugster, co-founder and CTO, with iNovitas since 2013, supporting the company in its search for a suitable location. The current location in Baden is ideal for the SME thanks to its proximity to all the major motorways; it is also a starting point for larger-scale projects abroad. So it was that iNovitas recently digitalized the city of Vienna. What drives Hannes Eugster? “I want to use new technological means to change existing processes, introduce innovation and create new market requirements.”
