On a tour of the castle premises visitors can learn more about the life and times of its previous inhabitants, the members of the von Hallwyl family.
Each part of the castle focuses on different members of the von Hallwyl family. In the front castle visitors encounter three former inhabitants who lived in the castle from the 18th to the 20st century, while the exhibition in the back castle explains aspects of castle life from the 14th to the 16th century and introduces another four family members. In the granary visitors can learn more about the tobacco- and strawmanufacturing during the 19th century as well as different aspects of industry and culture during that time, while the exhibition in the old mill explains traditional ways of flour production and bread making. Here too visitors are introduced to two members of the von Hallwyl family.
