The attic labyrinth of the children’s museum holds many a secret nook and cranny, hidden stairs and bays, all waiting to be investigated and explored. Here, children can paint and make things under the watchful eye and responsibility of their accompanying adults. They can dress up as princesses or knights, have fun in the play castle and process their impressions of the castle while playing games.
And of course Fauchi the castle dragon in the east bastion looks forward to having many visitors, both young and old.
Fauchi the baby dragon
Do you know the legend of Fauchi the baby dragon? A very long time ago a fierce dragon lived on the hill above the town of Lenzburg. It constantly destroyed the crops in the farmers’ fields. Guntram and Bertram, two brave knights came forward who promised the local people that they would kill the monster. They were successful and the people of Lenzburg were so happy that they allowed the two knights to build a castle on the dragon’s rock. Centuries later a dragon’s egg was found buried in the ground at the foot of the castle hill. A small dragon, Fauchi, hatched from the egg. It was placed in an appropriate cage at Lenzburg Castle and now he looks forward to having many visitors, both young and old.
