Insurance

In Switzerland as in most European countries, there are two primary classifications of insurance: social insurances and property insurances.
 
The Swiss Social Security System is broken down into a 1st pillar (state provision), a 2nd pillar (professional provision) and a 3rd pillar (personal provision).

Among the most important property insurances are building insurance and building inventory insurance. Further there are numerous specialized insurances, for example legal protection insurance, operational and professional accident insurance, machine insurance, electronic data processing insurance etc.
